Why Join Clemens Food Group?

Are you the kind of technician who enjoys figuring out why a machine stopped working, digging into electrical problems, and getting automated equipment running again?

At Clemens Food Group, we're looking for anIndustrial Equipment Technicianwho enjoys working with industrial equipment, electrical controls, motors, drives, and automation systems.

This isn't just about replacing parts or responding to maintenance calls. It's about understanding how equipment operates, diagnosing the root cause of problems, and keeping production running safely and efficiently.

If you enjoy hands-on troubleshooting, working with industrial electronics, and solving challenging equipment problems, this could be a great fit.

The Impact You'll Make

As anIndustrial Equipment Technician, you'll play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing equipment operating safely and reliably.

Your technical expertise will help us:

  • Reduce unplanned downtime by diagnosing and resolving electrical and equipment failures.

  • Improve the reliability and performance of automated manufacturing equipment.

  • Identify recurring equipment problems and recommend lasting solutions.

  • Support production teams by responding to equipment issues and restoring operations safely.

  • Maintain the electrical controls, motors, drives, sensors, and automation systems that keep our facility running.

Your work will have a direct impact on equipment performance, production efficiency, and overall operational reliability.

What You'll Do

Troubleshoot Industrial Equipment & Electrical Systems

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic problems on automated manufacturing equipment.

  • Work with AC/DC electrical systems, including single-phase and three-phase motors, wiring, and power distribution.

  • Troubleshoot motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, transformers, power supplies, and motor control circuits.

  • Identify failed electrical components and select appropriate replacements based on equipment requirements.

  • Use electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, equipment manuals, and diagnostic tools to isolate equipment failures.

  • Perform electrical testing using multimeters, clamp meters, insulation-resistance testers, and other approved testing equipment.

Work with PLCs, Controls & Industrial Automation

  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment using diagnostic tools, input/output status, alarms, and equipment operating sequences.

  • Diagnose issues involving human-machine interfaces (HMIs), sensors, switches, encoders, solenoids, and other automation components.

  • Troubleshoot industrial control circuits, including 24 VDC, 0 10 VDC, 4 20 mA, and PNP/NPN sensing applications.

  • Identify communication issues between PLCs, HMIs, drives, remote I/O, and other industrial automation devices.

  • Support PLC, HMI, and drive configuration or programming changes using established procedures.

Maintain, Repair & Improve Equipment

  • Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on production equipment.

  • Install, wire, test, and replace motors, drives, electrical controls, and related components.

  • Troubleshoot machine safety systems, including emergency stops, interlocks, safety relays, and protective devices.

  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, commissioning, and startups.

  • Document electrical repairs, wiring changes, and equipment troubleshooting activities.

  • Partner with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to identify recurring failures and improve equipment reliability.

What Makes This Role Exciting?

You're working with more than basic electrical maintenance.

You'll have the opportunity to troubleshoot the electrical, electronic, and automation systems that power modern manufacturing equipment.

Every day brings a different technical challenge.

One day you might be diagnosing a motor or drive issue. The next, you could be tracking down a faulty sensor, investigating a PLC input, or troubleshooting a control circuit that's preventing equipment from operating.

Your troubleshooting skills matter.

We're looking for someone who wants to understand why equipment failed not simply replace a component and move on.

You'll work across multiple technologies.

From industrial motors and electrical controls to PLCs, HMIs, sensors, instrumentation, and automated equipment, this role offers a broad range of hands-on technical work.

  • Experience diagnosing electrical issues involving motors, drives, sensors, switches, and control circuits.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.

  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.

  • Experience using electrical testing equipment to diagnose faults safely and accurately.

  • Understanding of electrical safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial electrical standards.

  • Technical education, apprenticeship training, military technical training, or relevant hands-on industrial experience.

Additional Experience That Would Be Valuable

  • PLC and HMI programming or advanced troubleshooting.

  • Experience with VFDs, servo systems, and industrial motor controls.
