Growing poultry processing company in the Hanover, PA area is seeking a proactive financial leader to serve as their
Director of Accounting & Financial Transformation. As the
#1 financial authority on-site, you will partner directly with Plant Leadership while managing all financial governance, cost accounting, internal controls, and financial technology initiatives. A central priority for this role is leading the site-level implementation of
Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)and driving a comprehensive digital integration strategy. You will oversee efforts to connect shop-floor systems, live operations, and financial accounting into a single, unified enterprise architecture-eliminating data silos, streamlining yield visibility, and modernizing accounting workflows across our high-volume poultry processing facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Integration & D365 Implementation (Primary Focus)- Serve as the site finance lead for the deployment and optimization ofMicrosoft Dynamics 365 (D365).
- Spearhead efforts to unify disparate plant software, warehouse/inventory systems, and plant-floor data capture tools (e.g., Marel, Carlisle, Innova) into a cohesive D365 ecosystem.
- Standardize master data structures, bills of materials (BOMs), and routings to ensure seamless data flow between operational events and financial reporting.
- Build real-time Power BI dashboards and embedded D365 analytics to give site leadership immediate visibility into cost variances, throughput, and profitability.
Plant Financial Leadership & Core Control- Serve as the lead site finance partner to Plant Operations, Supply Chain, and Live Operations.
- Oversee month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead and develop the on-site accounting team while maintaining strong internal controls and audit readiness.
Poultry Cost Accounting & Yield Management- Direct plant cost accounting, standard costing, and product margin analyses across primary and further processing operations.
- Analyze critical poultry operational metrics, including live-to-lean yields, condemnation, line speeds, labor efficiency, giveaway, and freight costs.
- Manage live operations/grower settlement accounting, cold storage inventory valuation, and cycle counts within the unified ERP framework.
Process Transformation & Workflow Automation- Leverage D365 capabilities to automate manual financial workflows, shorten the close cycle, and reduce data re-entry across departments.
- Establish automated control checks and variance alerts to catch inventory and production discrepancies in real time.
- Drive change management and system adoption across accounting and plant personnel.
Budgeting & CapEx Leadership- Drive annual operational budgeting, rolling forecasts, and capital expenditure (CapEx) tracking.
- Perform ROI and payback analysis for facility automation, technology upgrades, and expansion projects.
Key Qualifications- Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
- ERP Experience:Proven track record of leading or key-stakeholder participation in aMicrosoft Dynamics 365 (D365)implementation or major ERP rollout/integration in a manufacturing setting.
- Industry Experience:8+ years of progressive accounting leadership, withdirect experience in poultry processing or protein manufacturing.
- Technical Accounting:Deep expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, GL management, and internal controls.
- Systems & Data Integration:Demonstrated success connecting specialized plant-floor equipment/software into enterprise ERPs and leveraging BI tools (Power BI, advanced Excel).
- Operational Knowledge:Solid understanding of live production, slaughter/evisceration, debone, further processing, and cold storage accounting.
