Position Summary
Our renowned specialty food market is looking for an enthusiastic, skilledBaristato join our team. This role is ideal for a warm, customer-focused hospitality professional who takes pride in crafting exceptional coffee and espresso drinks, maintaining a pristine and inviting coffee bar, and providing a welcoming experience for our loyal neighborhood clientele.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a full menu of hot and cold espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages to order, maintaining consistent quality and presentation
- Maintain a welcoming, clean, and organized coffee bar, station, and seating area adhering to all health and sanitation standards
- Greet customers warmly, answer menu questions, offer recommendations, and provide exceptional, friendly customer service
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment; perform daily cleaning, backflushing, and routine calibration
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, milk, cups, and paper goods, communicating restock needs clearly with store leadership
- Handle customer transactions accurately using the POS system and manage cash handling procedures
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and allergen control regulations
- Assist with general market duties or other food service stations as needed during peak operating hours
- High school diploma required; previous barista or specialty food service experience preferred
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1+ years of hands-on barista or high-volume specialty coffee experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of coffee extraction, milk texturing (latte art is a plus), and espresso machine operation
- Retail, grocery, or specialty food service environment experience strongly preferred
- Warm, professional communication skills with a passion for hospitality and customer satisfaction
- Comfortable working independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability to work morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $18.00
$20.00 per hour
