Poultry manufacturing company in theHanover, PA areais seeking an action-orientedTransformative Cost Accountantto manage plant cost accounting and drive operational reporting accuracy. Sitting on-site at their poultry processing facility, you will perform daily cost and yield analysis while serving as a key hands-on contributor to theirMicrosoft Dynamics 365 (D365)implementation and shop-floor system integrations.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Accounting & Plant Metrics
- Maintain standard costing systems, BOMs, labor routings, and overhead rates across primary and further processing lines.
- Analyze daily operational metrics, including live-to-lean yields, line speeds, condemnation rates, labor efficiency, giveaway, and scrap.
- Perform month-end cost close, inventory reconciliations, variance journal entries, and cold storage/WIP cycle count audits.
D365 Implementation & System Integration
- Act as a core finance team member for theMicrosoft Dynamics 365 (D365)rollout and testing.
- Help integrate plant-floor equipment and software (e.g., Marel, Carlisle, Innova) into D365 to ensure real-time data capture.
- Validate shop-floor data inputs and build Power BI reporting dashboards for plant operations.
Process Automation & Controls
- Automate manual reporting workflows and streamline daily inventory tracking.
- Work directly with production supervisors to investigate yield variances, line bottlenecks, and scrap spikes.
Key Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Industry Experience:2-5 years of cost accounting experience inpoultry processing or protein manufacturing.
- Technical Skills:Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, inventory controls, and BOM structures.
- ERP & Systems Aptitude:Experience withMicrosoft Dynamics 365 (D365)or major manufacturing ERPs, paired with advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
